Brain Medicine is an Americana string band based in Upstate NY. It is the brainchild of drummer turned tenor guitar player, Clinton Hoffman. The project is a collection of songs he has written since he moved from Delaware to the Great White North. Story songs based on a past of drugs, dads, and death with a wink and a smile. Hoffman's songs are driven into full tilt by the rockabilly mandolin stylings of Will Frohlich and the thunder slaps of upright bassist Kevin Cottone. The icing on the cake is Erika Babus' snarky soprano, accenting the quick witted lyrics and adding a layer of gin soaked saccharine. Formed in early 2017, Brain Medicine has been pleasing crowds both regionally and nationally, while perfecting their original brand of bluegrass with a punk mentality.
