Bio

Bodhi’s Wish consists of singer/songwriter Michael Pickard and drummer Sean Tatarian, who first became friends during high school in Marin County, California. Michael had grown up playing drums and listening to heavy metal and rock, but after discovering an old acoustic guitar and dusty book of folk music in his parents’ garage, he began learning songs and soon gave up his kit and began delving into works from John Lennon to Bob Dylan, with influences coming from contemporaries such as Conor Oberst, Sufjan Stevens and Arcade Fire - all the while honing his own unique voice.

In 2013, Michael and Sean reunited as musicians, jamming informally in San Francisco. Around the same time, the alternate identity known as “Dr.Twiz” developed, fusing Michael’s love of music with the Bay Area improv scene, the result being songs which are equal parts comedy, hip hop, absurdism and “Twiz.” Ultimately, Sean and Michael collaborated on their first album “Lost and Found,” combining experimental rock and indie pop to form hauntingly soulful yet catchy tunes. The work reflects a time of personal and spiritual crisis, along with the hope and transcendence that is forged out of darkness.
