Bio
Blonde Maze is an NY-based electronic musician who, after spending two years documenting her travels between New York & London with synths, bells, and vocals, compiled four of her most personal tracks to form her debut release, the Oceans EP.
Oceans was released in May of 2015 and represents the love, pain, excitement, and longing that comes with being an ocean away from someone or something dear to you. Each track portrays a different phase along this transatlantic journey. Oceans has received rave reviews from blogs including The Deli Magazine and Earmilk, charted in the Top 50 on Hype Machine’s ‘Popular’ chart as well as Top 25 in ‘No Remixes’, and has received international online and terrestrial radio airplay. Oceans, while overall indie-electronic, explores many sub-genres within this umbrella, subsequently attracting a variety of listeners.
She then went on to release a cover of Darlene Love’s ‘Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)’ in 2015, which was premiered on Paper Mag and made it to several holiday playlists and domestic radio stations.
Blonde Maze's latest release, ‘Antarctica’, was premiered by Pigeons and Planes. It is riddled with emotion and lyrics detailing connection and dependence. The signature marimbas (which can be found in most of her tracks) and vocal sampling contribute to the classic indie-electronic vibe. 'Antarctica' was played on BBC Radio 1, made it to Spotify's Weekly Buzz playlist, MTV's MTV Radar Spotify playlist, and peaked at position 18 on the Spotify US Viral 50 chart.
