Bio
Ben Burn is the alter-ego of Wyatt Ben Bernstein. A child prodigy, he began writing songs at 12 years old on an old tape recorder. He has hundreds of hours of field recordings that were never intended to be released. His protest song "NYC Circa 2006" has been listed on Neil Young's website, "Living with War Today". Stripped down with just a black Acoustic Ibanez and his child-like voice, Ben Burn strives to create compelling, timeless songs like the great artists he has admired and studied.
Like Roger Waters, his lyrics are deeply personal and political and his influence certainly shows as Ben Burn has used video projection over his songs in recent performances. Like Mark Knopfler, Ben Burn is left handed, but plays a right handed guitar and prefers finger picking to using a pick. And Like Bob Dylan, Ben Burn's musical identity shifts wildly, with unique lyrics about political corruption, social inequality, unrequited love, and the rambling, gambling nature of a traveling troubadour. Reclusive and enigmatic, Ben Burn may be far from a household name, but once you've seen him live, you won't forget him.
