“This five man outfit from Norfolk, Virginia delivers a great mix of hard rock/ metal. Before this untitled debut, they already released a 4 song demo “Let It Rust” ! This music really pounds and sounds like a mix of (a heavier) Skid Row with Avenged Sevenfold, but singer John Ferreira that gives it a touch of their own. He really goes loose and sings, yells and shouts until he drops ... This allows ATWB to profile itself as better than just "a copy of ..." Personally I think he's a very good, variated singer and he lifts the band to a higher level. This is a more than decent debut album from a band that is worth checking out and hopefully we hear more of this ! Dit vijftal uit Norfolk, Virginia brengt een lekker potje hard rock/ metal. As The World Burns is a metal band that is difficult to define but appeals to fans of hard rock and heavy metal alike. The band combines elements of heavy riffs and aggressive vocals, as well as clean passages and melodic singing to create a balance of heavy and melody. This versatility is the reason the band has been well received supporting acts such as White Lion, Halestorm, Devildriver, and Kings X just to name a few. As The World Burns' live show is a roller coaster ride of high energy thrash inspired metal, progressive elements featuring soaring musicscapes, vocal harmonies, and even a ballad or two. As The World Burns has released a self-titled debut, as well as the newest album entitled Prevail, both available on Spotify and Apple Music. Prevail features the title track single inspired by the will to overcome the adversity of dealing with a global pandemic, accompanied by an aptly themed music video. The band has recently been playing live on the local circuit supporting various national acts, as well as tribute acts at local venues Elevation 27 and Scandals Live with plans to continue playing shows, including performing headlining dates. Additionally, As The World Burns has already started writing for a new album and plan to go back into the studio to release more new music in 2023.
