Armed Rhymery is a Lafayette, LA based Hip-Hop duo consisting of Lafayette's hottest femcee, Mo Blak (22) also known as Kween Mo and the smooth flowing New Orleans lyricist, Edward X (24). The two Louisiana natives known for their unique rhymes and captivating stage performance met through networking in early 2010 and after doing several collaborations, the lyrical chemistry was hard to ignore. All it took was a little brainstorming, and Armed Rhymery was born. In 2013 X made Lafayette his permanent home and the duo began to see a huge increase in momentum packing out some of their first shows beyond their expectations. From a young age these artists have had an undying passion for Hip-Hop and music in general taking inspiration from the likes of Jay-Z, Outkast and Lauryn Hill. Although both members continue to work on solo music, the strength of their team dynamic is undeniable and has become their main focus. Armed Rhymery's beliefs are rooted in unity and independence which can be seen in their every move as they work diligently toward vast expansion and building a solid and more unified hip-hop scene in their city and state. Cypher Saturdays which was a huge success and played a significant part
in uniting and giving a platform to many artists in the Lafayette
Hip-Hop scene. Both artists also actively pursue careers in video directing and create all their visuals in-house. Thus far they have released one official project entitled "2 Black Sheep" which has a theme of originality and embracing one's uniqueness and are currently gearing up to release their next project "Attitude".
Armed Rhymery was recently featured as the only hip-hop act in the "Listen Up" edition of "Acadiana Profile", Louisiana's longest running magazine and have also been recently mentioned in the LSU Reveille and Dig BR. The dynamic duo has performed countless shows in Lafayette and also has a fan base that extends to Baton Rouge and New Orleans. They have even taken the stage at two small music festivals; one in Mobile, AL and the other an annual Mardi Gras festival in Lafayette (Le Festival De Mardi Gras) where they were the only hip-hop act invited to perform. The two have also performed at events with Southern Hip-Hop legends like Fiend, Mystikal and Scarface as well as Nesby Phips, Givers and Geaux Yella and even went on to do an amazing feature with Gold selling and
Grammy nominated artist Fiend. The feature "Got It On My Mind"
has a creative visual and has even been featured on several of Fiend's
projects with the likes of Snoop Dogg, Daz Dillinger, Corner Boy P and
others. Their performances are captivating and versatile, even performing and collaborating with live rock and funk bands on several occasions. Armed Rhymery strives to be self-made leaders who aren't afraid to
take risks to get their message heard and continue elevating for the
love of music.
