Come for the pizza, stay for the music. Special guest Blanc Bandera opens with a tight Latino rock sound; this is their first live show as a band and have spent months perfecting their songs in the studio. Bay Area band Anima also come to rock "en Espanol." They've taken their love of 80's and 90's music as inspiration for a fluid but heavy style that hearkens back to the heyday of Metallica, Soundgarden and Nirvana. All five Anima bandmates are of Peruvian heritage; Diego Zegarra is on vocals, Doug Ott is on lead guitar, Coco Olivari is on bass, Oliver Zelada is on drums and Douglas Lezameta is on rhythm guitar. While their style is nostalgic, their original material holds it's musical weight against even today's popular music. ANIMA is a band that plays Spanish & English Rock. The band’s main idea is to bring back the somewhat lost good old rock from the 80’s and 90’s. With influences from Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Metallica, Soundgarden, The Doors, Nirvana, Guns and Roses, Soda Stereo, Mana, Heroes del Silencio, Arena Hash, Enanitos Verdes, La Ley and many more, Anima has found the perfect blend for a new sound that brings back the power riffs on the guitars and the characteristic beat that defined an era.
Established in the Bay Area, ANIMA is formed by Five South American souls (Peru) that their main purpose is to have fun doing what they consider is great music.
