"Amber Monique 'Save RnB' Named Mixtape of the Year by the305.com"

Nowadays, its hard to define what a mixtape is since most have kinda’ turned into elongated EPs and albums basically. But when an artist calls their project a mixtape, what else can we do but respect that and move forward with the mixtape title.

Out of SOOOOO many mixtapes that dropped in the year, we had to shoot a little bit of shine to Amber Monique for not only putting out the rare R&B mixtape that actually could have been a great “album”, but for being incredibly talented. And that voice!

Save RnB combined the old school rhythm and blues sounds with new aged lyrics and modern production from a handpicked set of producers including a few standout Pyrvmids-produced songs. The mixtape just has a great vibe from beginning to end and whether its hip-hop, pop, rock or country – very few projects gave us that same feeling in 2014.

We hope to see more of Amber in 2015…keep it killin’ it! - The305.com

"Amber Monique's Interview with Miami New Times"

Lounging inside a coffee shop, singer Amber Monique smiles with a hint of embarrassment as she remembers an awkward childhood moment.

"I was young, dumb. And I went around the wrong side of the pole I was supposed to move to, because I thought I was a rebel, and I ended up falling face-first in the fountain," she recalls. "So I was just laying there, and I didn't want to get out. And some guy finally helped me out while laughing at me."

Over the last year, this shy and self-proclaimed geek has found her way into Miami's local cool crowd with the release of her debut project, Elevate, working with Prez P and fellow female artist E. Banga.

Now, following her latest release, Save RnB, Ms. Monique chatted with Crossfade about early memories, beating anxiety and stage fright, being biracial, and the current state of R&B. - Miami New Times

A Vixen is a woman who refuses to fail. Confidence, beauty, courage, ambition. She is the definition of strength. A Vixen is a woman who realizes her worth, goes for her dreams, does what she loves and never gives up.

After making the decision to leave my Human Resource job, I dedicated myself to my music & website–and haven’t turned back. I’m the strongest & happiest I’ve ever been. My goal is to inspire others to go for what they love most! - Vibe Vixen

"Amber Monique #SaveRnB"

I might be a hardcore hip hop fan, but my life would not be complete without some smooth and soulful R&B! My R&B playlists are endless: Jodeci, Jagged Edge, MJB, R. Kelly, Avant, Carl Thomas, KC and JoJo, Ginuwine, 112, Mya, Musiq Soulchild, Aaliyah, Keith Sweat… and on and on and on. Classic R&B is something that will never get old. Blame me for being a fan of the 90’s, but I remember the days when an artist sung about love and lust and heartbreak vs. just sex. Where is the lyrical foreplay in today’s R&B? The emotion and romance? What happened to the musical climax (pun intended)?!

Why does it seem that the days of R&B have become extinct?

Amber Monique is a South FL singer who promises to give new life to the RnB movement. Her most recent project “Save RnB” will have you reminiscing of the days when rhythym and blues was soulful, fun and sexy. Her project is a masterful blend of old school flavor with a new school flair like the remake of Jhene Aiko’s “The Worst” mixed with the Fugees classic “Ready or Not“. Check out “Pluto” featuring artist on the rise, Prez P, which will satisfy your sweet tooth for seductive lyrics as well as your hunger for hip hop. You will want to hit that replay button, (on my favorite song), “Picture Me Rollin” which samples the original 2pac beat and features another lovely and talented lyricist from Miami, EBanga. From start to finish, Amber Monique proves that R&B is not a dying art, it is something that is worth being saved and appreciated. Make sure you check out the entire project and share the love. "#SaveRnB : The Mixtape, The Motive, The Mission!"

The world is full of hip hop, pop, rock, etc. and over the past years, I feel like R&B music has fallen off the radar. Not because there’s no great R&B artists left, but because so many have transformed into what the industry wants them to be and the trends.

R&B is timeless. R&B is heartfelt, it’s raw, it’s emotional—you can play that one old R&B song that made you feel amazing “back in the day” and I guarantee you that joy would return if you played it today. But nowadays all the new releases consist of ‘twerking and bottle popping’. Now I’m all for a good twerking session occasionally but these song expire about 2 months after the radio gets a hold of them. Simply because you get tired of it, and there’s no attachment because you didn’t emotionally connect with that song, you just liked dancing to it.

R&B was that glue. It kept people hooked because we will forever have feelings. Whether we’re in love, out of love, depressed, happy…whatever it may be, we feel it.

#SaveRnB is a mission to keep R&B music alive. To incorporate the old school with the new school, to FEEL it again, to make people want to dedicate songs to one another again, to unite R&B singers instead of forcing them to compete, to make people sing along, smile, cry, love, make love… Save the love, Save RnB! - HypeGirls.com

Bio

Amber Monique, born on March 5th, 1990 is an American singer-songwriter. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, later relocating to Miami, Fl. she began her musical career singing the national anthem at boxing matches, singing at corporate events, and remixing/covering songs via YouTube.

Before entering into the music realm, Amber was involved in hip hop/jazz dance and also belly danced for a couple years. After leaving the belly dance world and receiving hundreds of thousands of views on her YouTube channel, Amber began singing professionally and released her first full-length project entitled, ‘Elevate’.

Shortly after the release of ‘Elevate’, Amber Monique was nominated for ‘Musician of the Year’ in Miami.

After climbing up and receiving more notoriety as an R&B artist, Monique began performing at venues in Miami and Atlanta and later began her ‘Save RnB’ movement.

In an interview with Miami New Times, Amber expressed her concern that R&B is slowly becoming extinct and that feeling, is what’s missing in a lot of music today. In an effort to bring this soulful genre back to the forefront, Amber dropped her second project named after her movement, ‘Save RnB’. This soulful, lyrical mixtape was created to capture the raw emotion missing from today’s industry.

Save RnB captures the old school vibe with a new school feel, forcing both eras to unite and has been recognized as ‘the return of R&B’. With her soft, melodic tone, her ability to hit high notes, and the truth & originality in her lyrics, ‘Save RnB’ captures what a lot of music is missing today.

Amber is currently spreading the ‘Save RnB’ mission to the west side and working on her next solo EP to be released in 2015.
