Hailing from
Inglewood, Ca. Airway Musik, real name Tyrell Lamont Walter was born on
July 29,1989. “People ask why I call myself Airway Musik. I tell them
there are so many rappers on the same path to make it in this rap game, it’s to
the point that it’s hard for anyone to truly stand out. So I take the Airway, a path that few are on.”
While listening to a lot of Nas’ older
records as a youth, it inspired him start writing poetry. In high school he
became active and joined the def poetry club to showcase his poetry. The summer of 2007 before he started college
and made the transition from poetry to song writing. Airway Musik did that for 3 years and decided
to make another transition which was to become a rapper. After the transition to rap, he started to
work on songs to perfect his craft as an MC.
In 2011, Airway Musik signed to the independent record label Skillfull
Minds and released his underground projects called “The Path” and "By Its Cover". Has performed at local
venues and opened up for Dubb, Keith Murrary, and Caskey. Airway Musik’s goal
is to become one of the greatest rappers of all time.
