AHEE

AHEE is a unique music project, done by Chris Adams. AHEE stands for 'A Human Expressing Experience' and this name could not be more appropriate for what Chris is trying to create. Chris is using his love for music and psychology to produce sounds that are unlike any electronic music out right now. Chris has a very special take on music for this project; he took a recorder around the world for about nine years and recorded every sound you could possibly think of from water droplets dripping in a water well to a wheat plow at work. He uses all of these intricate sounds to create melodies and beats that will take you for a pleasant surprise.

In AHEE's latest video to accompany his track "Live In Joy", he wishes to reach those who are passionate about transformational festivals and hopes that this video representation of his incredible sound will resonate with all of you music lovers. The video begins in a bleak, dark version of the universe, where AHEE ends up meeting a woman who by chance takes him to an alternate dimension where self-expression and creativity reign over all. I met sound/artist and DJ Chris Adams at #SXSW and really liked his music made from "found sound". He recently sent me this super cool video and song that he made under his DJ name #AHEE. The video, directed by Alexander Polinsky, has a great theme... the idea of love and inspiration shattering conformity. There is a subtle OVEY reference in the beginning which I was very flattered by. Check it out!

Rising LA electro-soul artist AHEE just released his debut video for the track “Live In Joy” directed by AHEE’s musical collaborator Alexander Polinsky (aka ALEX). This fantastical video takes us on a journey to the stylized catacombs of a bleak and homogenized future where we meet a man in his un-realized self, locked in an unchanging pattern of mundane existence. Through a chance meeting with a beautiful and magical young woman, he is taken to an alternate dimension where creativity and self-expression reign supreme. His old identity is stripped away as he is reborn into AHEE, who ultimately rescues his peers from their humdrum existence into colorful freedom.

Not satisfied with the the limitations of synths and computer pre-set sounds, Adams has traveled the world with a field recorder for the last nine years recording unique sounds to create his free-spirited music. From an electric drill cutting wood, the plucking of cactus spines, to the sounds of internal organs, he weaves his eclectic recordings into electro-inspired sonic tapestries with the goal of shaking hips. The result is music that sounds both out of this world yet undeniably human.

AHEE has now teamed up with longtime musical counterpart ALEX, under the name AHEE & ALEX, to release their next full length album, Anything Is Beautiful, at the end of 2014 on Dome of Doom records. Musician and CalArts alumnus Chris Adams (Music 10), who performs under the name AHEE, joins the Los Angeles-based underground vaudeville group The Lucent Dossier Experience as they premiere a brand-new show, Unleash Your Legend, at Club Nokia on Saturday (Feb. 21).

Adams composed a substantial amount of the show’s new music, which combines the group’s trademark world-music infused sound with the deep house, hip hop and jungle genres. The new compositions accompany the troupe’s fire spinners, aerialists, acrobats and dancers on an elaborate stage.

Saturday’s performance also features electronic music by MartyParty, Dirtwire, NICO LUMINOUS and Mikey Lion, Marbs and Deep Jesus of Desert Hearts and live painting by Daniel Bilmes, Hill Young, Ngene Mwaura and Carlos Vera.

Adams also joins The Lucent Dossier Experience on Feb. 28 in San Francisco’s The Regency Ballroom and performs as AHEE for the arts and music festival Serenity Gathering in La Jolla, Calif., in March.

One of the most unique acts I stumbled upon was Magick for the Masses (comprised of Ahee & Alexander Sky), it’s a quirky psychedelic- electro duo whose one-of-a-kind SpaceHarp hypnotized and magnetized the audience... They ended their set with a shared
