"Featured in Outsider's Mag"

ÆonFlow, a 29 year old musician originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. Though, technically I'm from Metairie, a part of the New Orleans Metropolitan Area. I live in San Francisco, CA.

I'm a musician, creating improvised compositions using a drum
machine, bass guitar, and loop pedal. Popular music imposes certain
expectations on us, expectations that music must be of a particular form in order for it to appeal to us. This limits music to a subset of what is possible, and limits our perception of beauty. I'm opposed to
music being used only as a way to get a message across or influence
people, and I see it as an expression of human and cosmic
consciousness. By choosing to create improvised, free-form music, I
allow it to flow freely through myself and express itself as it wishes.
I want to set people free by expressing my own freedom. - Outsider's Mag

"My Work with Musician AeonFlow"

When my musician friend John Krause asks me to take photos of him for a magazine, I was happy to do the job.

I have known John for two to three years now. I first met John when he was working on an app for homeless people. He had at one point become homeless when he was younger. He wanted to do something for people who have the least. Needless to say, he is a very compassionate person.

John has been interested in music and computers at an early age. He lived in L.A for a couple of years to pursue music. He was not feeling the music community there and moved to SF. He taught himself computer science and later started to work for Open Table on software development.

At the height of his career, he was making a six figure salary, but something is missing. He left his job, moved out of his apartment and lived in an RV now. I have deep respect for John because he has lived up to his values. I don’t think everyone should quit their jobs, but too many people are not happy with their lives and too afraid to make a change.

It takes a lot of courage to follow your heart and carve out a path that is true and fulfilling to you. You may have to give away some security and comfort, but the struggle is worth it.

Take a look of the interview with John on Outsiders’ mag. And Don’t forge to check out John’s music. - Imaginesville

Bassist, multi-instrumentalist, producer and engineer originally from New Orleans. Former member of hard rock/metal band Farsight and alt/electronic/pop band Divenium.

After several years of experimentation and the release of 5 solo albums between 2007 and 2015, John Paul Krause created the “dreamgaze” sound of ÆonFlow.

ÆonFlow’s debut album, Sublimation, released in 2018, can be described as a psychonautic exploration of mental and emotional space, with alternating dark and light overtones, moving and droning rhythms, and melancholic and intense melodies.

Heavily influenced by video game music of the 80's and early 90's, ÆonFlow's free-form, improvised looping progressions and electronic drum tracks set the stage for melodic stories, all using Electric Bass as the primary instrument. ÆonFlow shows what is possible with Bass as a rhythmic as well as lead instrument.
