"Adrian Truth- Euphoria Bloom"

Kansas City, Missouri: not the first place you think of when you think of R&B, but Adrian Truth plans on changing all that with his latest project, the Euphoria Bloom EP. Released on his independent label Npursuit Ent, the upcoming Midwestern-singer offers seven tracks of material that focuses on life’s pleasures.
The entire project features solid songwriting, first glimpse of this on “Sex Symbol,” where Truth spits game so poetic, it would make the woman with the biggest chip on her shoulder give up the digits. “My heart beats like a phoenix that’s rising / from the ashes, enticing / my every thought as I gaze into your glow,” he seductively croons. “Vice” gives in to temptation: “Everybody got a vice, but do it make it right?” he sings, the song fading out with a hypnotic melody. “Foolish Games” is reminiscent of a mid-90s groove that would make R&B singer Case proud, and the string/piano arrangement on “Drunken Nights” effectively conveys distressed truths that come out when loneliness and too many spirits combine resulting in the dreaded drunk dial. “It’s me again, pick up the phone, I’m home alone, patron patron,” he laments.
All songs on Euphoria Bloom were written by Adrian Truth and features production from Ra Charm, Sho-Down, and LX. Will Adrian Truth put Kansas City, MO. on the R&B map? Check it out and download!

"Adrian Truth Talks About “Euphoria Bloom” Project"

Adrian Truth

R&B is trying to push its way back into mainstream. Thanks to artist like Miguel, and Frank Ocean, there seems to be more and more request to hear new R&B. Adrian Truth, a singer and songwriter out of Kansas City, is dedicated and determined on making R&B present around him. Looking at the direction he’s headed, he could very well be on his way to putting R&B on the map for Kansas City.

Wheat City catches up with Adrian Truth, who recently won Rich Dollaz of VH-1 Love & Hip Hop Superstar Search, to discuss his new EP Euphoria Bloom.

WC: What’s happening out there?

Adrian Truth: Wrapping up the end of my campaign at SWXW and in Miami. Now getting prepared for my album release party.

WC: What’s all this noise about R&B?

Adrian Truth: That it’s not that much noise here in KC!

WC: How are you trying to change all that?

Adrian Truth: I’ve been singing my whole life, at church, school, and of course to the ladies. R&B has always been what I love and I just hope that while doing what I love, more people will start moving back over to and supporting R&B out here. I hear R&B on the radio, but what is lacking and I am Npursuit of now, is giving my fans live R&B shows. My Euphoria Bloom album release party is coming up April 27th at The Riot Room. It is the first straight R&B local show i’ve seen pop off in KC.

WC: What does R&B mean to you?

Adrian Truth: Growing up it was all about fun, as I became an adult it was more for the ladies, and now I just respect it as music that expresses genuine emotion. When I write songs, I’m writing about the feelings that are skipped over and hidden. Euphoria Bloom is not just about making the ladies feel good with fantacy, it’s about the real shit that happens in relationships and lack thereof.

WC: For those who don’t really know you, introduce yourself.

Adrian Truth: I’m Adrian Ra’Mon Smith, a Kansas City, MO born crooner under the label Npursuit Alliance. Never been married, no kids, and I have no tattoos.

WC: What are you Npursuit of?

Adrian Truth: In Npursuit of making a living off my craft of music with my partners and its founders Lloyd Tucker aka Fat Mack, and JP the CityNative. We are all “Npursuit” of something.

WC: What does “Euphoria Bloom” mean/stand for?

Adrian Truth: It means a Mature Feeling. The artwork I drew for my EP cover was inspired by a Belgian surrealist artist named René Magritte. He would always replace the person’s head with an object like an Apple or cover the face with fabric. I think we all tend to cover up who we are, trying to fit into a perfect world that does not exist. The songs I wrote paint a picture of reality. We all have a “Vice”, “Drunken Nights”, and have experienced “Foolish Games”. I hope people can relate to me through my music and the painful parts as well as the pleasurable parts.

WC: What’s your favorite song off you album and why?

Adrian Truth: Vice is my favorite song on the CD because I feel everyone can relate to it … Everyone has a vice. Those 3 things I’m saying in the hook don’t have to be it! Your vice could be cooking, gambling, dancing … Anything! Me and JP came up with the idea of the song, I just tried to make it sound as poetic as possible.

WC: In addition to the music, you said you did the cover art for your own album. Who else has album cover art with your name on it?

Adrian Truth: JL of BHood’s Brian Scatter, Gee Watts, SmartAlec (Subliminal Beats), and Dutch Newman to name a few.

WC: Who is Adrian the artist and how deep does that go?

Adrian Truth: Oh thats A.R.T. (Adrian Ra’Mon Truth). Back in 07 I went to college for Illustration In Denver Colorado. I love to draw as much as I love to sing so its safe to say it goes pretty deep!

WC: Can we expect a couple of music videos soon?

AdrianTruth: Definitely! We are working on the concepts now and will be dropping the first video soon. I head out to New York to meet up with Rich Dollaz in the studio and I can tell you, we are planning to shoot while we’re there.

WC: S/O to all the artist you’ve worked with and who have features from Adrian Truth.

Adrian Truth: Yup! S/O to JP the City Native, Monny, Chanel Madden, JL of Bhood, Steddy P, Ubiquitous of Ces Cru, Tef Poe, Info Gates, Joey Cool, Gee Watts, Reach, and Bre the 1st Lady.

WC: Thanks for opening up with Wheat City. And for your final verse, where does all the inspiration come from?

Adrian Truth: Positive and Negative energy. - Wheatcitymag

Bio

"Adrian ART Truth"  the R&B crooner started off innocent enough, a quiet kid singing in the church choir. With his mother and older brother coaxing his natural abilities, Adrian discovered his calling at only four years old. “My brother and I would always act like we were in a music group and put on shows for everybody,” said Truth. “We were just having fun with it, but all the girls in the neighborhood kept telling me how good I was and how much they liked it so I kept it up."

Now in his twenties, Truth has surpassed the days of serenading the block and took to the masses with his experimental mixtape entitled “Truthfully Speaking” released in 2010. (And latest release 2013 EP Euphoria Bloom) also Truth flexed his songwriting chops on Tech N9ne's  "We Just Wanna Party" A Strange Music ent (Album Strangeulation 2 in 2015).

Like most artists, Truth strives for a national stage, but this KC/Independence, MO native has his roots firmly implanted in the local scene. Truth’s hometown pride shows through while he simultaneously tries to set himself apart from other artist. While Truth’s style and panache take his music to another level, what differentiates him wholly is hes also a skilled Illustrator/exclusive Graphic Designer.

Three things that no one can argue First, he is talented beyond belief. Second, he is hungry for success and an identity in the entertainment buisness.
