Bio
Nathan McCollum, known as Clas$ick, was born on February 15 in
Zephyrhills, Florida where he quickly jumped in the rap scene at the early age of twelve. Clas$ick moved to Jacksonville,
FL, his junior year of high school. Clas$ick, raised and molded by his grandparents, quickly adapted a love for old school
style and morals. He would utilize his upbringing and his love for music, to develop his own original style. Once moved to
Jacksonville, he would soon make friends and be introduced with fellow rappers and known producers.
Gathering the attention of many in his current city, Clas$ick would eventually take on teaching himself audio production,
engineering, as well as, constantly perfecting his craft. He wouldn’t stop there and would decide to take it a step further
and enroll in a two year program at Art Institute of Jacksonville, where he would take up Graphic Design, allowing him to
eventually be able to design his own cd covers and do independent artwork. Clas$ick’s first ever cd, Bone Thugs and
Harmony-Est 1999, would be amongst the other 90’s era influences of hip hop, to encourage Clas$ick’s unique style and
delivery. Inspired by Outkast, Ludacris, Lil Wayne and Nas, to name a few, Clas$ick has already made a name for himself
with his ability as a storyteller and his conceptual metaphoric ability to gravitate and capture crowds.
Clas$ick already had a relationship with Mix Therapy Records, where in 2014, he teamed up and released back to back
mixtapes, “Back 2 The Clas$icks” and “Psychedelic.” Clas$ick has shown continued growth and skills through his various
mixtapes and is now working to release a debut album titled, “Backstage Pass.” 2015 has been a huge stepping stone for
Clas$ick, as he started the year opening up for the legendary group, Field Mobb, in Yulee, Florida. He would then,
months later, go on a promotional tour with his independent group, Maniac Muzik, where they performed in Tampa,
Orlando, Atlanta, Ft. Lauderdale and North/South Dakota. Needless to say, Clas$ick has been busy and has truly made a
name for himself. At the end of the year, Clas$ick would sign a distribution deal with Mix Therapy Records, to add to his
list of accomplishments. Clas$ick says, “I am ecstatic about what is about to happen in 2016” as he looks forward to
releasing his second single, “I Know Why” in preparation of his debut album.
Clas$ick says, “No one has ever heard a sound like mine before.” He enjoys being unique and offering something
different that’ll set him apart. Although he is different, he is often compared to Drake with some of his catchy and
harmonizing hooks but then his raw hip hop metaphors are often compared to Lil Wayne and Big Sean, which he
considers a “compliment.” Clas$ick says that overall, “my music is breathtaking and a breath of fresh air that tends to
allow every person in contact, to be able to relate to.”
