Gene is artist who hails from Beaumont, Texas grew up around the Houston chopped and screwed which heavily populated the area during his youth. Also present in his sound are the many soul and funk influences of this father's massive music collection that he often found himself lost inside of. Gene began rapping in the military as a way to pass the time while off duty. I wasn't until 2009 when he moved to Houston eventually joining a MC groups called 2-Twenty Music. As a member of 2-Twenty, Gene was apart of the 4 projects release by the group. After the group decided to pursue solo careers to perfect each their own style Gene began work on his first solo project "How I Feel". Over the following years Gene spent his time following different artists in the studio learning what it takes to be a professional and how to hone his sound. Gene now continues to build the sound he has branded as "Lo-fi Hip Hop".
