AUCTION THE SECRET
Rock n’ Roll: what used to be an institution of revelry and rebellion has been overshadowed during the last decade by hollow, industrialized pop. Aspiring rock-gods became afraid of being dubbed “posers,” so they traded in their leather jackets and Marshall amplifiers for khakis and mandolins. Something had to be done. In the fall of 2013, Nolan Brown met Nicholas Amend in Nashville and an instant bond was formed over their undying love for Rock n’ Roll. They were compelled to form Auction the Secret and light a fire under Nashville's hipster ass. After months of lineup changes, Tyler Chase became all-about-that-bass, no treble. And he added dimples to the band.
Each member was raised on Classic Rock, and it's evident in their playing. Nicholas's relaxed, booming, Bonham-esque pocket locks in with Tyler's funk-inspired grooves. Nolan's addition of bluesey, grungey guitar and aggressive vocals creates a sonic assault that captivates the audience. The band has been gaining traction in the local Nashville scene, including getting airtime on 102.9 Local Buzz for their radio debut, and selling out the High Watt at Cannery Row.
Pulling from influences that include Foo Fighters, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, and Kings of Leon, Auction the Secret brings back the integrity of Rock n’ Roll with an energy-packed show that makes the crowd want to get involved. They are currently building a market by targeting audiences in the American Southeast and Midwest, with plans to record their debut LP in Summer 2016. In Brown’s words, “It’s loud. It’s explosive. It’s in your face. And it definitely rocks.” Within the opening moments of their thunderous live show, you’ll realize it’s a secret worth telling.
