Al ZAID
Singing at the age of nine, Al Zaid is known as the man with a thousand voices. With an unlimited vocal ability and his achievement of perfection, afforded Al the opportunity to be the former lead singer of the Zola Taylor's Platters (Member of 'The Platters').
Of great musical historic value, Al has opened for some of the world’s Para-mounted artist such as; Al Green, The Emotions, Bobby Wormack, Isaac Hayes, Etta James, and the Temptations. As a dynamic vocalist and magnificent performer, Al Zaid has executed tributes and voice makeovers of such artist as; Tony Williams of the Platters, Sam Cooke, Al Green, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Eddie Kendricks, Curtis Mayfield, George Benson.
Al Zaid has great tonation of his four octave ranges. Singing 1st tenor, 2nd tenor and baritone keeps his music dynamic, which adds that special something to your event. Al’s newly released CD 'The Nearness of Love’ is a musical dynasty of his ability as a vocalist singing Jazz Standards of such artist as, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Perry Como, Nat King Cole and Tony Williams of ‘The Platters’. Al believes in working with the best musicians and giving more than 100 percent. Al Zaid performs with a keyboardist or his trio (Legends of Classic Soul Jazz)
