Bio
Formed in New Orleans, LA, The Afrodisiac's have taken their own perspective on the music of Mulatu Astake, other Ethiopian composers, as well as other African music, and juxtaposed it alongside jazz fusion, bebop, and a diverse array of the many influences of each member. Featuring tenor saxophone, trombone, keys, vocals, bass, and percussion, they provide intricate rhythms, bombastic horn lines, and tasty grooves tempered with jazz sensibilities and a focus on improvisation.
