Bio
Ding is a violinist, artist and composer from Singapore. Inspired by diverse styles and cultures, his music is powerful, melodious and radiant. Currently studying at Berklee College of Music, Ding specialises in jazz performance and original composition.
His band, Ad Astra, features an eclectic group of jazz/fusion players from different backgrounds that met at Berklee College of Music. Starting out as a violin/piano duo between Ding Sng and Isaac Oksman, the group has since expanded to include Anthony Reis on guitar, Dante Gijanto on bass and James Russell on drums. The group composes, improvises and performs their own original material inspired by the classical, jazz, fusion and rock idiom. You can expect an intense, heartfelt performance without any frills.
