"Accidental Seabirds is the one-man band of singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Jesse Lee Herdman. The New Jersey native wrote every song and played practically every instrument on his 17-track debut album, The Snow And The Full Moon, a collection of quirky and melancholic folk/jazz tunes. Like Adam Green or Yoni Wolf, this man has a way with words. Herdman appears to be a scientist of sound with the ability to form an incredible amalgamation of music and lyrics that harmoniously bellows his tale. His clever poetry flows through gleaming vocals to join congruent instrumentals in an emotion-filled pool of sweet, sweet sound. Herdman has created an album that drips with the essence of the human experience." - MAGNET
"Accidental Seabirds is one of those bands that possess both a strong songwriting skill set as well as excellent musicianship. It’s been quite the journey for singer/guitarist Jesse Lee as he brought this group to fruition, getting the sound out of his head and into fans ears, but the group has hit their stride and their clean, folk-rock sound, intelligent and at times sarcastic and wry lyrics are capturing local hearts and minds as this fundamentally solid and extremely focused act should be." - The Vinyl District
Accidental Seabirds music and performance is one that encompasses both natural hits and textured sounds. Their songs are carefully crafted and arranged, but still the band has its opportune moments to break into solos and improvisational sequences, and then they somehow always bring the music back to its original state. Jesse Lee’s vocals are one of the most unique aspects of this band because of his range and his amazing ability to crescendo and decrescendo through verses. Accidental Seabirds are the fire in the belly of 10,000 visionist islanders transfigured into the shapes and colors of car crashes. - The Idiom Magazine
Accidental Seabirds (the stage name of Jesse Lee) advanced to the Semi-Finals of the Williamsburg Live Songwriter Competition with “The Appearance of New Animals.” The song features Lee’s trademark powerful, soaring voice and big stage presence. Good thing for us, all of his songs are just as good (if not better).

Accidental Seabirds returns to Resonance with a full band, promising to deliver energetic and dynamic renditions of lead singer Jesse Lee’s exceptional songs. Lee stays on the acoustic as accompanying drums, bass, electric guitar and saxophone expand sonic horizons and create a solid launching pad for the singer’s striking vocals. - Jezebel Music

Bio
Accidental Seabirds are an Indie Folk band based in Asbury Park, NJ. They tour nationally, but spend most of their time on the East Coast.
The Seabirds are a DIY machine, printing their own merch, recording their albums at bassist Anthony Defabritus' AntFARM (Studios), booking tours across the country, and even making some of their own instruments.
Accidental Seabirds have provided direct support for Toadies, Joseph Arthur, Jake Bellows (Neva Dinova), Brick+Mortar, And the Kids, Saintseneca, and many more.
They have performed at several festivals, including Mumford & Sons' Gentlemen of the Road in Seaside Heights, NJ. They recorded a Daytrotter session while on tour in the Midwest, and we are expecting the 4th Accidental Seabirds LP later this year.
