Friday Night Cartoons returned April 17th with Houston brother and sister duo Aaron & Ashten. The singer/songwriting duo who both split time between the piano and guitar were in New York to perform at The Roost in Manhattan and shoot a video with CTM Sisters. AARON & ASHTEN
AARON & ASHTEN are a brother and sister music duo - formed in April 2014. Their music influence is wide and deep ranging from acoustic and folk rock to blues, jazz and R&B. Their musical influences are evident in their original works. Their original works are composed individually and collaboratively. Sometimes ASHTEN provides AARON with lyrics and he will crank out the music in a few hours or days. Up until now, they have produced, recorded and mixed their sound recordings in their home studio. They released their LP Vintage in July 2015. The LP release includes 8 of their original works. They also released 2 music videos (Wrapped Around and Vintage), 2 live performance videos and 3 artist profile videos.AARON
AARON has been involved in music since the age of nine in the school band as a trombonist through middle school. In high school, he started playing percussion and is the past drummer for Karma Points and The Aftershow. In recent years, he has started playing piano, guitar and bass. Many of his original works have been composed either on guitar or piano.ASHTEN
ASHTEN has been singing in school choir since elementary school. She won her first talent show competition at the age of seven. She started playing the piano at age eight and the guitar at age twelve. Throughout middle school, she was very active in school choir: she was selected to all district choir, served as president of the choir and led / participated in activities like Pop Show. During that time, she was also in a local band (No Rehearsal) playing school fundraisers, local restaurants and Pop Shows. She auditioned for and was accepted to the Vocal program at the Houston High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA).
