Zdenek & Christie is the core duo of producer/arranger, bass player, composer Zdenek Kansky and his wife vocalist, pianist, producer and composer Christie Kanska .

Together with a host of musicians and guests, they offer a modern concoction of Jazz, Latin, Fusion, World music, Funk and off-kilter broken beats, shifting, twisting rhythms, and adventurous electronic explorations.

Christie’s & Zdenek’s  music collaboration begins when Christie & Zdenek just met at Berklee College of music in 2001.Two musicians who came from Europe winning a scholarship: one from Greece another from the Czech Republic to study at famous Berklee College of Music . Both of them are composers and had lots of things to share in between. Christie writes as well songs. They try to write songs together and came out with the beautiful song in Smooth Jazz style “My heart is longing for you

“. Zdenek wrote the music and Christie the lyrics. By good luck both of them feel in love to each other and they got married in 2005 after the graduation of Berklee College of music. Since than they play together and grow musically and spiritually as a couple .

In addition to ZCK duo , Zdenek and Christie formed a band “World Jazz Ensemble” touring in Europe and collaborating with the musicians from US, Austria, Mexico .. When they came back to US, Boston in 2010 they continue playing together and trying to find some musicians who could share their music concept. Current name of their project is ZCK Jazz Quartet.

Zdenek is more oriented into Jazz Latin Fusion , Christie loves to integrate Jazz , Classical music mixing her music heritage from Greece and Armenia. It is a tasteful blend of different styles of music.

Zdenek & Christie have a big appreciation of Indian classical music. They were fortunate to be invited to teach at some of top Indian contemporary music college in Chennai, India. In addition they had a chance to perform at some of top jazz clubs and they plan to do another tour at prestigious music clubs and festivals in India.

Rather than call some of todays music new we see the future of music development in tasteful combination of different styles of music and influences. We think that each creative artist should least try to learn some traditions of different styles of music and add something original from your souls and taste. That's exactly we’re trying to express in our music and we see the future in that. We are now full of energy to tour all round the word and share our music from new Album “Le Reve” - The Dream.
