Bio

 Zak Gross is a Manhattan born multi-instrumentalist living in Brooklyn NY. Having played various instruments as a child, it was when he heard Jimi Hendrix play that his life changed. Early on, Zak moved from NYC to Shreveport, LA where he played in local bands. At age 18 he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a musician. While recording a demo for a female artist, he met the singer of The Resurrection Sorrow, a heavy metal band based out of NYC. After touring the country for a few years, Zak Gross enrolled in the Jazz Composition program at the Berklee College of Music, gaining high marks in all of his classes, and playing in the Boston music scene.  Since his departure from college he has toured the world, recorded for many artists, and has shared the stage and studio with many notable musicians including, Bow Wow WowRufus Wainwright,  Jay Rodriguez (Prince, Medeski Martin and Wood, Gil Evans, Marc Ribot, Elvis Costello, Groove Collective, John Zorn) Warren Benbow (Nina Simone, James Blood Ulmer, Eddie Gomez) Alex Skolnick (Testament, Trans Siberian Orchestra) Tom Keifer  (Cinderella) Bruce Brody (Patti Smith, John Waite) Richard Vitale (Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Buddy Rich, James Taylor, Sting) David C. Gross (Steven Stills, Sonny Sharrock, Aztec Two Step, Rhett Tyler) John Allred (Harry Connick Jr.) Mike Migliore (Maynard Ferguson, Liza Minnelli, Ricky Martin) Bobby Rondinelli (Black Sabbath, Quiet Riot, Blue Oyster Cult) Danny Hall (Eddie Money) Rex Brown(Pantera, Down, Kill Devil Hill) Mark Mendoza (Twisted Sister), Dan Nelson (Anthrax) and many others.  In October of 2013 Zak was in the Off Broadway production “On the Record”, a tribute to the great vocal groups of the twentieth century, playing guitar and singing baritone vocals. Zak Gross is currently in the studio finishing up his first solo album “My Time On The Green Line”, and he is also serves on the board of educators at Music Creates along side Reggie Workman (John Coltrane, Art Blakey) and many others.
