Drawing from influences such as Elliott Smith, Nick Drake, and Vashti Bunyan, Donahue utilizes guitar and voice to craft dreamy scenes. In his studio albums, he is accompanied alternatively by a standard four piece arrangement or full orchestration. His lyrics will take you from sun-drenched mountainsides to the bottom of the sea, or from low orbit to interstellar space - all without realizing you never left your seat.
