Wojo is an alternative singer-songwriter based in NYC, from Mars PA where he still collaborates/records with his sound engineer & lead guitarist Nathan Baldwin, on their independent label Motherboard Earth Productions. Rooted in alternative rock, dipped in coffee-shop acoustic, a dash of grunge with a smooth melodic finish, Wojo’s music explores progressive new territory of his songwriting, incorporating elements of dance music, pop, metal, and psychedelia. Drawing from over a decade of life experience, his introspective lyrics cover topics ranging from failed relationships and co-dependence to personal and artistic growth under constraints of corporate/popular culture. Shortly before releasing his 2nd EP in 2015 ("Distant Shadows"), he was diagnosed with IGANephropathy, a form of kidney disease, and underwent a successful kidney transplant in January of 2016. In spite of having a kidney transplant, re-stabilizing kidney-functionality/overall health, and losing 20% of his body-weight post-surgery, Wojo has continued to tour and create music, playing nearly a dozen shows post-transplant and recording new tracks set for an early 2017 release.
