Wes Bowker

Hi, my name is Wes Bowker.  Since I value your time, I won’t force feed you some awkward autobiography written in third person boasting of my songwriting accomplishments and self-proclaimed street credentials.  Musician or not, we all have a story to tell. Mine is lengthy and complex, and I’d be more than happy to tell you the tale sometime. For now, I’ll keep things simple.

To my surprise, I have come to find that I am somewhat of a rarity in the Nashville songwriting community if for no other reason than I am actually from this area.  I was born, raised, and currently live just west of Nashville. The competitive yet supportive nature of Music City is the only one I’ve ever known.  The truth is, I am only one dime in the dozens upon dozens of singer/songwriters who are constantly trying to make a career out of a life-long passion. I was fortunate not only to have inherited my musical interest early on from my parents, but also their work ethic that seems to be less commonly seen in today’s society.  Formerly a police officer, I have bent over backwards throughout my adult life to balance a full-time job and family life while consistently writing and performing new material to anyone who has time to listen.  I have been fortunate to enjoy radio-play on a small level, and a recently televised performance on Nashville’s FOX17 News. A brief summary of previous or continuous performances include but aren’t limited to The Ryman Auditorium, The Bluebird Cafe’, The Rutledge, Douglas Corner as well as The Americana Folk Festival. I have humbly served as an opening act for performers such as Linda Davis, Old Crow Medicine Show, The Avett Brothers, Shawn Camp, and Patty Griffin. Sounds like a bunch of name-dropping I know, but if I were that big of a deal, this wouldn’t be the first you’ve heard of me. Even still, thank you for showing interest. I’m not sure if I could have kept running this long without the constant kindness and encouragement from family, friends, and many songwriting mentors along the way.
