Unsilanced

Unsilanced is a rock band based out of Greensboro, Georgia. They play hard rock originals, as well as some covers with their own loud touch, from the 60's to present day. The band consists of four members; lead singer/guitarist Ans Simpson, guitarist Aaron Gibson, bassist Elodie Johnson, and drummer/backing vocalist Chris Johnson. Although the band formed recently in the summer of 2018, they have known and played together throughout the years. 
Three-fourths of the Unsilanced band members, Elodie Johnson, Ans Simpson, and Aaron Gibson, all attended the same elementary school together. Elodie and Ans both took up violin there as the start of their musical journey. Chris Johnson and Ans played as a part of a supporting band for Nathanael Greene Academy's 2016 spring musical Grease. Later on in 2016 and 2017, Chris would go on to play bass as a part of Ans's backing band for various gigs. Ans later on would play a few times with the same youth group band that Aaron Gibson played for. Chris worked with the youth band in which Elodie Johnson began taking up bass. Unsilanced itself began forming in the summer of 2018 when Ans needed supporting musicians for a gig in Atlanta. Chris Johnson took up the drums for this gig. Aaron was added on soon after as bass guitar player. After their first gig together, the three members decided that they enjoyed playing together enough to make it official and become a band. The name Unsilanced can be attributed to all the venues that asked the band to quiet down. Elodie Johnson began playing bass for the band soon after it's inception, when the band decided her bass playing could add a lot to their sound. This led to the band's current line up. 
Lead singer/guitarist Ans Simpson has been in music all her life. She began singing at her church from a very young age, and began playing an instrument when she started taking violin at her elementary school in the first grade. From there, she began taking piano lessons in the third grade. She really got into music in the fifth grade when she began teaching herself the guitar on an old toy guitar that she found laying around the house. Since then, there has not been an instrument that she hasn't tried tackling, from bass guitar, to drums, mandolin, banjo, saxophone, and trumpet. Her favorite however remains to be the electric guitar. Ans began playing gigs at restaurants and around town at as young as 13 years old. She sang for her school's girl's trio as well as for other various school events. She began writing songs as soon as she took up the guitar, and continues to write for her band to this day. 
Guitarist Aaron Gibson began his musical journey at the age of 12, when his grandparents gave him his first guitar on his birthday. He began teaching himself the instrument and still loves learning more and more on the guitar. Aaron began playing trumpet for his school in 2014 and continues to play the instrument some on his own. He played guitar and sang on his own for a while, writing his own guitar riffs here and there based off of the rock music he was listening to. In 2016, he began playing in his church's youth band and remained there for a while. Aaron enjoys rocking it out with the Unsilanced, and provides the band with the majority of the solos, as well as writes riffs for the band's original songs.
Bassist Elodie Johnson got into music at a young age. Her introduction to being a musician was taking violin lessons at her elementary school when she was in the third grade, where they grouped her with the beginner classes, but soon was with higher classes within only a month of playing. Her musical journey continued on into middle and high school where she sang for various school events. Elodie began to play bass in 2017 with her church's youth group band. She was taught bass by her father Chris Johnson. She enjoys playing the bass with the band and providing the rock-solid feel for the rest of the band to play off of. 
Drummer/backing vocalist Chris Johnson has been in music for the longest in the band. He is self taught at guitar, bass guitar, and drums. In the past, he played with early 90's band Apollo's Mother as the lead guitarist and frontman. Later on in the mid 90's, Chris played lead guitar and was the lead singer in the successful North Carolina-based rock band Vicious Kanids. The band however broke up in 1995 in the midst of talks of recording contracts with Hollywood Records. From there, he played lead guitar and bass for Grace Fellowship from 2012-2015. He began taking up the drums with the formation of Unsilanced. Oftentimes compared to the rocker muppet Animal, Chris is definitely the loudest member, and hits the drum skins hard!
Unsilanced continues to play together any chance they get, and continue to develop their hard-rock sound.
