T.J. Miller The Bridge

As a newcomer to the R&B scene, T.J. Miller The Bridge has been making moves as an indie artist that sets him apart from the rest as one that has mastered the craft of "being one's self artistically". This Preacher's Kid from Camilla, GA is well on his way to becoming a household name and one of the most influential voices for the culture of his generation. As a newcomer to the R&B scene, T.J. Operating as his own songwriter and vocal producer; Miller has stepped into the director's chair and has taken complete control of his career, creatively. This creative freedom has given him a musical canvas that is capable of producing amazing sonic collections and energetic live performances that have been said to give audiences a "spiritual experience"; whether he's singing an intimate, semi-sensual love ballad; or an empowering inspirational gospel song. 

"I am a soul singer. That means when I sing, it is important that even though you hear the beauty of my voice; you hear and feel the emotions I feel in that present moment. That is why, though I respect the art of covering another person's music; it is very important to me to sing my originally written material. When I sing the lyrics I wrote; my audiences get to hear and feel my soul... I allow and invite you as an audience member to experience that emotion or thought along with me. I won't allow myself to be boxed into the place of being a 'cover singer'. My band is not a 'cover band'."

  The lyricism of Miller's music does exactly that. The truth of his lyrics come from a place of pure honesty that triggers the common sense of empathy we all have. It re-connects the soul and conscience of a person to the awareness of God, through the understanding of everyday life and conversations about love. 

    Miller often says, “I want my music to be the soundtrack to your life... carrying you from one destination to another."  He's also a "bridge" in another sense that also brings together different cultures and genres.

     In a world that defines you with a "box", this vocalist has been trained to be able to sing anything from opera to Rock/Pop to Jazz, Reggae, Gospel and even Country. His vocal style is a fusion of all those standards. With his climatic, multi-octave ranged tenor-voice; Miller's sound has a unique swagger that pierces right through the soul. His vocal versatility and theatrics combined with a stellar band of musicians provides a live show you'll never forget.  He and his team have been blessed to grace the stage with many artists of different genres ranging from the legendary Pastor John P. Kee to the classic R&B group Maze featuring Frankie Beverly. 

     No stranger to hard work; his first album, FEARLESS: The Freedom Project Vol. 1 (which was actually  a Gospel record) was recorded while yet tending to his studies as a college student at Savannah College of Art & Design; showing that he is ready to take on the challenge that comes with the lifestyle of being a recording artist with high demand. Even then; listeners could tell that Miller's sound and raw, honest lyrical content would not be able to be confined in the box of contemporary gospel music. T.J. says, "I don't want my music to be defined under the label of 'Christian Music'; it's just really great music that was written and sang by a young man that just happens to be a 'Christian'. I want my music to not just be something that you listen to, but something you can feel. " His statement here is definitely present now with his latest release, The Reconnection EP which is a Soul-R&B/Pop collection that is filled with amazing music that can be enjoyed in any setting. After years of growth and continually developing his sound, T.J. strives to not be another artist that follows a trend, but a visionary of musical sound that sets a standard. An Icon in the making.
