Christopher Dean was born Aug 1973 and is a NJ native but resides in Freemansburg,PA as of 2007. He has been touring since 1997 fulltime as a traveling blues/soul musician. He started playing guitar at age 15 and studied various styles of blues and soul guitar after high school in 1992.Early influences Charlie Patton,BB King ,Magic Sam.Later David Ruffin,Al Green ,Sarah Vaughn. Formed the Christopher Dean Band 1995 and started working the hardcore blues area in Newark,Elizabeth, Plainfiled NJ mostly . Was recommended to Big Jack Johnson agent /manager Hooter Saslaff and joined Big Jack and The Oilers in Jan 1997.For next 3 years toured worldwide and recorded 2 highly acclaimed blues cds with Big Jack."All The Way Back,(98) Roots Stew (2000).Re started the Christopher Dean Band early 2000 and recorded several cds since then including: Three Times A Fool ( Johnny Rawls Deep South Sound)03. Where I Need To Be (2007;Lost World Music and the latest What I Need (Lost World Music;2010) The cds all got great reviews from blues and soul publications alike .They have toured non stop since 2000 180 days /year and have played many special concerts ,clubs and events during that time.Including American Music Fest ( Harrisburg) Central PA Arts Fest ,The Kennedy Center DC and BB Kings NYC.Joining Christopher in the band is David Foti (Brother on bass ,who also toured with Big Jack Johnson for 3 years)Chip Dixon on drums ( Black Widow Band ,who was house band at Mannys Car Wash back in the day) and James White on sax( Gas House Gorillas etc.They cover everything from Marvin Gaye ,Chuck Berry , Al Green ,Kool and The Gang to BB King . The band plays the crowd.The band has a new release on Lost World Music label. Songs From French St 2021. Getting national airplay and great reviews. l .Its a deeper more soulful sound than your ordinary blues band .Check out some samples or catch a show. Hope to see you
