The Ann Cummings Band

I have played music all my life and performed with many cover bands, but I suddenly started writing music in 2007 - songs with big choruses and lots of harmony. I wasn't struck by lightning, but I have no real explanation for it.

I have the good fortune to be able to play and record with some established Bay Area musicians: drummer/producer, Adam Berkowitz; string and electric bass player, Joshua Zucker; guitarist, Erik Schramm (of Super Diamond), and mandolin/fiddle player Kenny Blacklock. They are helping me record a cd and play out locally, their crazy schedules permitting. We may be new as a band, but none of us are new to the rigors of performing. Especially those guys.

My latest news: "Been Sayin' Goodbye received an Honorable Mention in the 2009 Billboard World Song Contest. "Sunlight" was a finalist in the Austin Songwriters' Group 2008 Song Contest. "Been Saying Goodbye" received an Honorable Mention in the Americana Category of the West Coast Songwriters Association 2008 International Song Contest, and "Sunlight," "The Garden" and "Alone" received Honorable Mentions in the Independent Singer Songwriter Association 2008 Song Contest.
