Bio

Formed in a friend's basement in 2015, THE RED MOUNTAIN is a visceral mix of heavy metal, hard rock, and live performance pieces out of northeast Mississippi (Corinth). The band is comprised of Jody "Goph" Holland on guitar, Cody Cromeans on bass, Adam Smith on drums, and Dave Frost on vocals. Holland, Cromeans, and Frost spent the first couple of years writing and recording home demos with a myriad of local drummers. It wasn't until the trio hooked up with Smith that they truly found their sound. In early 2019, the finalized 4 piece began playing gigs in the local area including Memphis, TN, and entered the historic American Recording Studios (Memphis, TN) to record it's first 3 song demo with producer Jason Gillespie. The band would then make several accompanying videos with filmmaker Chris Mullins of Semi-Famous/Neighbor Ned Films. The majority of 2019, The Red Mountain played gigs heavily in the southeast, hitting up many cities throughout MS, AR, TN, and AL. During the 2020 covid-19 debacle, a slew of gigs were cancelled. This did not slow The Red Mountain from progress. The quartet began working extensively on many new songs in preparation for their first full length album. They also released the namesake single "The Red Mountain," which was produced, mixed, and mastered entirely by the band in their home studio. Early 2021 would see the band resuming many live gigs again, as well as recording and releasing a single "Blood Poison" from their time spent at Babbylon Sound Studio in Memphis, TN. To date, the group has been working copiously on their first full length release with Michael Babb (Babbylon Sound,) with plans to release in early 2022. You can also catch The Red Mountain on the road as they've began booking many new gigs to lead into the new year.
