The Opener is a side project that Donald Alan Sowash Jr. tried to get off of the ground awhile back. What started out as a joke, turned into something he takes very seriously nowadays. Basically, anything that is written or recorded goes into this project.
The first EP released was entitled 'Home" and it features colorful genre transitions, laid back drums, and ear piercing yells. Goes from pop punk to space rock, to indie to mathcore in a matter of minutes. Supposedly, this album was the blueprint for a three-piece band that Donald wanted to take on tour.. Sadly, that never happened and ironically enough wasn't even listened to by said members.
The Opener has a wide range of genres that will be tackled in the near future. An acoustic EP is currently being talked about, full album that is considered indie rock is in the works, and collaborations are also being planned.
