East Central Minnesota grows a surprising amount of talent, ranging from solo artists to full-on bands (we'd name them, but given the Scandinavian ancestry of the region, if we forgot one they'd be mad at us forever. Plus, they can get their own Press Kit). We started like most other bands- a bunch of high school friends who discovered just how gloriously fun it was to belt out 'Wild Thing' and 'Gloria' at private parties, gradually moving on to bigger and better gigs, and writing and performing our own songs. We started in the early 1980's, in the wake of some of Minnesota's best 'first wave' Alternative bands such as Husker Du and The Replacements, and toured extensively through the Midwest throughout the 1980's. If you really need a label for Groove music, how about '60's Garage-influenced, Alternative Rock and Roll'? Our influences range from The Beatles, Rolling Stones and Who, up through bands like Urge Overkill, Smithereens, and Dandy Warhols. Listen to the song samples and decide for yourself. We've been at it long enough to know what we're doing. Music doesn't have to suck.
