The Great Planes is formed by Bob Watson with daughters Hattie and Stella.
Watson, was the founding member, singer, and guitarist of the popular Deep Ellum band Shallow Reign. They were best known for their album Strange World and the release of their single "Paint the Flowers". Shallow Reign was prominent in the Deep Ellum music and art scene.
Daughters, Hattie and Stella played bluegrass gospel in East Texas churches in their younger days, Hattie eventually moving from guitar to drums and Stella moving to electric guitar..
