“As far as I’m concerned, you guys are the biggest thing to come out of Buffalo since Buffalo Wings!”

The Buffalo Brass Machine is an eight-member New Orleans-style brass band playing the likes of street brass, hip-hop, pop, and everything in-between. The band was formed in late 2015 by a group of University at Buffalo focused with the mission of spreading original, high-energy, New Orleans-style brass music that made people dance, sing, and lose themselves during one of their highly renowned “mobile hype squad” live shows.

The group started out firing on all cylinders early on, playing for large crowds out on the streets of Buffalo, Rochester, and Saratoga. They rapidly became fan favorites, as listeners began engaging with their energetic live shows. This launched the band into full stage shows across New York State, such as Buffalo Iron Works, The Tralf Music Hall, Babeville, Abilene Bar, and Canalside, as well as a few forays at Junction City Music Hall in Toronto. Through the groups hard work and dedication over the years, they’ve been able to share the stage with artists such as Bonerama, The Rebirth Brass Band, Heavyweights Brass Band, Mustard Plug, Papa Gros Funk, and many more. The band also keeps up a regular schedule of high-profile festivals such as Night Lights, Lewiston Jazz Festival, and others.

While the group prides themselves on their live performance, they are planning on recording their first album in Fall of 2018, with the intent of release in Early Winter 2018. They the plan on embarking on a regional tour to support the album release across the North East United States, and South East Canada.

The Buffalo Brass Machine prides themselves on their versatility in many aspects, be
it music styling, lineup, and setting. You can find them playing late night shows with more of a high-energy hip-hop set, playing standard New Orleans brass band repertoire while leading a second-line through the streets, or playing a more “reserved” set in full suits for a private fundraising events. Regardless of setting, however, be ready to dance and sing because they will bring the noise!
