Bio

Steven Woolley is an award winning singer/songwriter/instrumentalist out of St. Louis MO. Whose eclectic blend of Bluegrass, Roots, Gospel and traditional Country cascades over subtle hints of R&B, Rock and Jazz to create a voice of his own.
Currently Steven is enjoying some down time with his wife and young son. He gives private instruction out of his home studio. He is releasing a greatest hits album with Crimson River Band and producing and recording their new project this fall. He plays private events and charities (Relay for Life, American Diabetes Foundation).

Steven has been a member of the award winning country gospel group Crimson River Band for 13 years, co-writing two number one singles for the group. Who were nominees for Vocal Group of the Year, and Band of the Year by the International Country Gospel Music Association (ICGMA), and by the Southern Gospel Music Guild (SGMG). He also received the Top 80 Radio achievement award, Instrumentalist of the Year (2000), Fastest Rising Song (by his label). Steven also had the pleasure of performing with Grammy nominated Draga/Vax Connection, and Epic/Immortal artist Steve Ewing (of the Urge).

Stevens says that he’s enjoying his “retirement” referring to years when he was play 47 weeks 140 dates a year. “I’ve been having fun with the solo artist scene. I get asked to do weddings. I’ll do benefit concerts, and sit in with other bands, playing bluegrass one day, then blues, rock, then jazz. I’m writing, and getting a tour booked up for 2010. You might even see a solo album out of me by the end of the year. I’m excited.”

So with the event of possibly three album releases, solo dates, band dates, and teaching, his response to the question: What is different about your music career now, then 10 years ago? “I’ve been there and done that, so there’s no pressure, its fun.”
