Bio
The brainchild of frontman Kit Conway, Stello is a band for nighthawks at the diner and quiet walks in the city. Stello is in the midst of releasing four three song "triplets," as well as a smattering of singles and co-releases. Triplet 3 is due out in February 2019.
Stello has recently played New York's Gramercy Theatre, Rough Trade and Elsewhere.
The triplet series began with an immersive, experiential set called Triplet No. 1: Apollo, which dropped on December 1st, 2017 and was met with glowing reviews. EARMILK called Apollo "masterfully crafted," swooning "Stello shows us that great musicianship is far from dead." Kings of AR advised industry leaders take note, saying 'Stello should be on your radar.' And Indie Shuffle said the opening track is 'sultry, smooth and some other word that begins with an s.'
Triplet No. 2: Desire marked a major shift in Stello's sonic palette. Desire leans into psychedelic funk, weaving dance grooves and synthesizers through a dreamy soundscape. Lyrically, the songs focus on the many shapes of internal desire: the quiet agony of boredom; the urgency of infatuation.
On April 23, 2018, Stello released Versions, a meandering, psychedelic jam featuring Scott James. The single earned immediate international acclaim, and was recently featured in Spotify's Fresh Finds and Dreampop playlists. A short time later, Stello released Megalith, a somber reflection on life, death and aging.
Triplet No. 3: Fountain was released on February 21, 2019.
