"S.I. Local Starda"

Need a rap fix? Check out S.I. Local Starda and how the island influence his start.

“William “STARDA” Perry born December 7th 1990, a Staten island native is a Hip Hop recording and performing artist; (the performing aspect is a guaranteed and charismatic experience) as well as a songwriter, actor, model, and if you will-visionary. Like any artist, such greatness cannot be aspired unless there is first inspiration. STARDA’s inspiration being legends such as Run DMC, Mos Def, Biggie Smalls, Outkast, Pharoahe Monch, Jay Z, Jean Grae, the likes of Quincy Jones and so many others. What many don’t know about William “STARDA” Perry is that on top of all that he is as an artist he is also a very savvy businessman; so much so he has quite a unique and artistically indifferent approach at branding himself. With established cultural arts umbrellas such as “The Snug Harbor Cultural Center” bringing him press and building many other local business relationships has helped him to expand vividly in his career as not only an artist but as an entrepreneur.” - foreverlivefly.com - S.I. Bio

Over the years this Staten Island native has broken barriers and established himself as a pioneer in the cultural integration within his city. Emerging from the streets of Shaolin, Hip Hop artist Starda born Dec 1990, has performed live over one hundreds within the tri state area. Over the years establishing himself as a jack of all trades. Winning the 2008 Best Actor Award & Best Message Award of the Staten Island Festival, performing in the 2009 COAHSI (now Staten Island Arts) Night Of Staten Island Artist award ceremony and later performing in the 4th annual Make Music New York Festival, it was clear Starda was determined to make his mark as an entertainer within his borough.

Starda's participation in the 2013 Battle Of The Boroughs, as the only Hip Hop representation for Staten Island. Deciding to go the extra mile and incorporating live actors on the stage, the first artist to do so in the competition, landed him in the semi finals. Within the year of 2013 Starda embraced his hunger for experience by  juggling internships with Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden, Making MemorEase LLC, W.A.R. Media and Monstar Films. As well as becoming Co Founder & Senior Public Relations of emerging fashion and photography company Forever Live Fly LLC.

Oct 2013 Starda was honored at the Staten Arts 2013 Gala, by the Staten Island Arts, New York City Council, New York State Assembly and U.S. Congress with the Emerging Young Artist Award for Music and Entrepreneurship. After following up with the 2014 Excellence In the Arts Award and Department of Cultural Affairs Premiere Grant awarded by the Staten Island Arts, Starda produced his first concert "The Starda Kit" at the Great Kills Train Station. Forever Live Fly produces various platforms for emerging young entrepreneurs and music artist in NYC.

Starda will be releasing his untitled debut project in 2015.
