If you feel like everything has been done before in the world of rock music, let The Serotones be the band to shock you out of complacency. Kevin Eiserman and April Gabrielli’s lead vocals play off each other with sheer rock n’ roll gusto, and yet the Long Island quintet's tight rhythms suggest that they cut their teeth in a jazz conservatory. You can throw around terms like "alt-rock," but that simply does not capture the nature of their crackling musical chemistry. The dual guitars, drums, bass, and keyboards ebb and flow in just the right places, each element contributing to a dynamic push-and-pull. The product of their instrumental chops and youthful high energy is a sound that is as captivating as it is indescribable.
The Serotones display their prowess onstage with tight, passionate performances. They’ve played festivals in the Northeast alongside the likes of Taking Back Sunday and Circa Survive. The band captured this onstage energy in their self-titled debut EP, which they released in November of 2014. The EP was produced by Mike Watts (As Tall As Lions, The Dear Hunter) and recorded at VuDu Studios on Long Island. The Serotones is a statement by five young musicians, eager to show the world what they can do with their genre-bending alternative rock sound.
