SOUTH BEND, Ind.-- Today, a night out on the town has a whole new meaning.

Local acts, musicians and comedians are coming together on social media to raise money to help local servers and bartenders left without a job because of the Coronavirus outbreak.

Think of it as a digital concert series.

These local performers are bringing the live performances you’d normally see on the weekends at local venues straight to your living room to raise funds in support of service industry workers.

Michiana musicians and artists are hosting their own live-stream performances.

With each performance, they're hoping the audience will donate or tip as you go like you normally would in person.

The GoFundMe campaign has already raised more than $2,000 dollars with a goal of $10,000 dollars.

ABC 57 spoke to members of local band, The 1985, Dan and Lisa Vukmirovich.

They tell ABC 57 they’re going to do everything they can to help the people they consider their extended family.

“The bar and restaurant has just been so good to us and helped embrace us as a newer band relatively a year in a half in our success has been because there has been great people around us supporting what we’re doing. Now that they are in their time of need we want to support them back," said Dan Vukmirovich

100 percent of the funds will be distributed to area bartenders and servers.

On Saturday, April 4th another digital concert series will be held where musicians will play at different venues across the city.

They will be closed to the public but you can find the link to the full line-up here. - ABC57 News Michiganna

"Country Music Review"

It’s nice to know that country hasn’t forgotten its sense of humor.

Reckless Kelly’s “Good Luck & True Love” made me smile because of its cleverness. Sam Roark found me grinning from ear to ear with her merry “Check Out Girl.” Buddy Jewell had me openly chuckling from his performance of “Jesus, Elvis & Me.” And, trust me, you have GOT to listen to “No Beer Here” by Amy Ames. It is a complete hoot.

—Samantha sings the sprightly, smiling tale of the grocery check-out gal who steals the cash from the register, hits the road with a touring band and then ditches the guys by taking off in their bus. I like the little breaks in her voice, the dobro-laced production and the rollicking tempo. Delightfully different.

Sam says "Songs are the medium that empowers experiences to heal"

Sam Roark was born and raised in the mountains of Southeastern Kentucky.
The heart of the Appalachian Mountains, is home to some of the world's most iconic music legends of all time. Sam started playing piano and singing at 4 years old. She led a struggling life of child abuse, and then later into drug addiction. Her life was gone by 18. But she had one love she never lost. MUSIC. After suffering the tragic loss of her mother, and giving up music she had hit rock bottom. She had given up on a old dream. Until finally the fire inside her ignited again, and she knew music was why she was given a second chance at life.

She was born to play and help others through music the way it would save her. Sam teamed up with her power house producer and talented team in Nashville, TN. Now she is setting stages on fire alongside her backing band "The Real Good".

Sam is blowing the music scene out of the water. She is nominated for over 6+ major indie awards for 2020, has played many sold out shows, and headlining several industry giant play bills in gig's in Nashville, both on and off Broadway.
