The evolution of Säk, both the man and the artist, has come full circle. Formally known as Sock the Rapper, Säk chose to embrace the meaning of his birth name, accepting his chosen path and staying true to himself. Hailing from Largo, MD, Säk's music is inspired by the life experiences and vibrant culture within the greater Washington, DC area. Always appreciating the narratives within 90's hip-hop, and the native go-go sound, he combines his deep, raspy voice with smooth, yet dense lyrics that paint vivid images of life's pleasures and struggles. Having earned a degree in Sociology from Temple University in Philadelphia, where his rap career began, Säk's musical objective is “to find the common connection between our individual circumstances and our shared humanity. We all have the same basic wants, needs, and emotions. By sharing my story, I hope to inspire others to appreciate their own journeys to self-realization." Säk has released several projects, most recently "Vintage Summer", a soundtrack illustrating the classic summer experience (under the Sock the Rapper moniker). Säk has performed as an opening act for several notable hip-hop stars, including Nas, Snoop Dogg, Wale, Machine Gun Kelly, Stalley and Kidz N the Hall. Currently, he is finishing new music, scheduled to be released beginning September 2014.
