"Saint Oeaux Via Dolorosa"

Born in New Orleans, LA, later relocating to St. Louis as a teenager Saint Oeaux( formerly Saint Orleans) has been independently working as a artist for the past 6 years. Starting in high school dropping mixtapes Saint is well known for his single “We Don’t Luv Em” which is often referred to as a St. Louis classic. After graduating from college Saint built a name for himself in the Midwest market. Now embarking on a new brand with his Oeaux Life efforts, Saint has brought a more personal take to his music with his latest release Via Dolorosa. This is clearly displayed in his “John to Jace” video. As the nephew of Grammy nominated blues artist Guitar Slim Jr. music has always been apart of his life. From his father playing the saxophone to his brother independently moving throughout the south music has always been apart of Saint Oeaux’s life. Saint now seeks to become a independent success with his new merch and indie distribution channels. Make sure you check out Saint’s online store and stay up today on where Saint will be performing next by checking out his tour section. #OEAUXLIFE, hashtag it now. - Mark Ward

"The 5 Most Anticipated Local Hip Hop Albums of 2015"

The new year brought a new name to New Orleans transplant Saint Orleans. Plagued by the success of his 2011 single "We Don't Luv Em," Saint Oeaux has distanced himself from others' expectations, instead focusing on a new, more personal sound. Last year brought the death of his father and a serious disease diagnosis for his best friend and wing-man M-Eazy, all of which brings a dark, intimate style to his music. As Saint Oeaux puts it, "This album means something."
With beats from his long-time producer Wiz as well as local mainstays Trifeckta and Beau Willie, the album will feature ten or eleven original tracks that Saint Oeaux hopes will pull him back into the spotlight. "Via Dolorosa" drops in spring and will be accompanied with a tour. - Mike Roth (Riverfront Times)

"Saint Oeaux Via Dolorosa"

Aviator Gang’s, Saint Oeaux, or Saint Orleans brings us hands down his most elaborate project to date. You can sense the presence of pain and suffering. They say the greatest raps are written after you’ve gone through something, and you can hear definitely hear his passion behind his playlist. You can check this track out in the Soundcloud player and you can support and purchase the album on iTunes, Google Play or any major online music store.

Check out his video for his song “John to Jace” from Via Dolorosa. - Twinny Twin

"Saint Oeaux"

Nominated for: Hip-hop artist of the year • Hip-hop artist male • Hip-hop album

Rapper Saint Oeaux (formerly St. Orleans) has some Grammy legacy in his blood.

His uncle is Grammy-nominated New Orleans blues artist Guitar Slim Jr., who has been there to give advice.

Among his best: Do what you want to do.

“He also told me to make sure I know contracts,” says 28-year-old Saint Oeaux. “He didn’t know contracts. He just wanted to make music.”

Saint Oeaux knew he wanted to be a rapper since moving to St. Louis around age 12. The New Orleans-based Hot Boys crew, which included Juvenile and Lil Wayne, was all the rage at the time, and Saint Oeaux was ignited by hearing them on the radio and seeing their music videos.

“They made me want to rap,” he says. “They were my connection to home. I was young, and I told my mama I wanted to be a rapper.”

Since branding himself a rapper while in college at Missouri State University-Springfield, Saint Oeaux has been releasing mixtapes and singles, almost annually.

Among his releases are “Mouth of the Mississippi” and “Mouth of the Mississippi 1.5,” both in 2008, which he says were his way of “connecting the whole St. Louis and New Orleans thing. That was my marketing scheme. I laugh at it now.”

Saint Oeaux, who had a club hit in 2011 with “We Don’t Luv Em,” says people assume a musician who makes a club song is just a club artist — “that you don’t have content.” He looked to offset some that with “Gas House Gang,” a collaborative effort that brought him together with other rappers, including Indiana Rome, William H. and MVP.

“Via Dolorosa,” named after the road Jesus Christ traveled before his crucifixion, is Saint Oeaux’s latest album. It features the single “Real or Fake.”

The album is dedicated to his father and his new son, and he says it’s his “Reasonable Doubt,” referring to Jay-Z’s 1996 classic.

“I really love this album,” he says. “It really is what I was going through at that moment. And I got superpersonal on it. Everything I rap about is real to me.” - St. Louis Post Dispatch

"VQMusiQ~ Saint Oeaux asks are friends “Real or Fake” in new single"

I do owe local musicians a huge apology. I’ve been slipping on getting their music out and that has to end now. It’s obvious local radio stations and deejays are just gonna let em go acknowledge so VQ pledges to bring you more original music from New Orleans artists, and why not start with Saint Oeaux’s “Real or Fake“?

I was sent this particular video by my friends at Urban Push Movement who wanted my opinion, so here it is. Love the video, video quality, and the song. The track goes hard. The lyrics are valid and relevant, and the concept of the video touches on a subject that for some reason is going ignored by urban males….these fake ass friends you seem to see everyone rolling with, fighting for, and killing for who don’t give a shyt about them. Check out the visuals. And in the Qomments let me know if you’re Letting it Through! - Vitamin Q

"Saint Oeaux Brought Mardi Gras to St. Louis Early with The Gumbo"

New Orleans born and St. Louis resident Saint Oeaux (formally Saint Orleans) has been making great music here in the Lou for sometime. His Via Dolorosa project made our 2015 Top Hip Hop Albums in St. Louis list and he is continuing to build on that success. The Gumbo is an annual event Saint Oeaux has launched to bring a little of that N.O. feel to the Lou. The night was filled with great talent as a beautiful crowd gathered at The Bootleg on a beautiful unseasonably warm January night!

Opening the show last night was Black Spade and Tef Poe who treated the audience to a sampling of their upcoming album Preacher in the Trap. Up next to perform would be Khori 4 while having a set plagued with technical issues he flexed his lyricism at times acapella. His skill is impressive and I can’t wait to hear more. Stopping thru to show love would be Indiana Rome performing his hit ‘Master P’ and Arshad Goods of Black Sunday fame. The latter performance would kick off the live music feel that would carry the evening. Performing solid crowd pleasers off Black Sunday, Goods set up for the evenings headliner Saint Oueax who took to the stage with his Saint Brass Boogie Band.

Last night with each toot, slide, and bellow into the brass bands instruments and accompanying bass drum and snare transplanted the crowd to the Big Easy. Add into the mix the the nights drummer, DJ T Gutta, and Saint’s Via Dolorosa and you got yourself one helluva show! I could watch it over and over again. Saint’s ‘Real or Fake’ which is clocking a lot of time on WHHL HOT 104.1 is absolute magic live. The nights performance of “Jesus Fix It” to the Fugees “Ready or Not” and the anthem “Hella Good” were full of energy. Even the Saint Oeaux ‘In Due Time’ classic experienced a rebirth with the nights live band.

It’s been awhile since I have been to The Bootleg but it was a great night for Hip Hop culture in Saint Louis. The die hard following that it has earned and all the artists have gained has to be acknowledged. I can’t say enough how proud I am of the talent in Saint Oeaux and the night’s performers as they breathe life into Hip Hop. Saint Oeaux’s The Gumbo is a great kick off to Mardi Gras and a wonderful way to start the new year! - DeWarren Smith

"(New Video)-@SAINTOEAUX Ft M_EazyAVG Facts"

With all the attention he’s been receiving in St. Louis for his recently released debut album “Via Dolorosa”, Rap artist Saint Oeaux slashes an optical treatment for his M Eazy collaborative effort where the duo states nothing but the “Facts”.
