Rome The Ruins

Rome The Ruins formed in the Fall of 2013 after founding members Taylor Little, Shane McCosky, and Michele van Leeuwen connected on local musician networking. Originally under the name "Collateral Damage", the band spent hours on end practicing and writing songs in their parent's basements. There was quite an on-going line up change with the band's guitarists, but they eventually found the right musicians. The band changed their name to Rome The Ruins at the end of 2013. 
The following summer, Rome The Ruins played their first concert at an arts festival in Bartlett, IL. Soon after, they recorded a 5 song demo entitled "X Seconds Left". All the songs were tracked and mixed in the basement where they practiced. Roughly 90 copies were sold.
RTR soon began making prominent moves in the Chicago music scene. They played many shows at a variety of venues throughout the suburbs and the city. In March 2015, Rome The Ruins headlined at the legendary House Of Blues in Chicago, IL. 
In July of 2015, the band headed into the studio to record their first professional release, a 5 song EP entitled "Pocketbook for the Rocket Launch". The EP is expected to drop in August, 2015.
The sound of Rome The Ruins is best described as Pop meets Hard Rock with a side of funkiness and a sprinkle of ambiance. The individual musical styles of each member join together to create this unique sound.
