"LOCAL SPOTLIGHT: REMO DRIVE AND A NEW SINGLE!"

Remo Drive is an alternative/indie rock three piece based out of Bloomington and Waconia Minnesota. Paring mild ambience with emotional punk, the group has found a home in the local house show scene and through regular gigging, energetic performances, and frequent releases they have developed a growing following. The group have now partnered with Rolling Green Records (as well as Endless Bummer Records) for the physical releases of their recent material.

On May 1, 2015 Remo Drive will be releasing their first EP entitled “Wait for the Sun.”

But in the meantime, enjoy this new single that gave us the pleasure to announce! - The Show Last Night

"LOCAL ARTIST REMO DRIVE IS GAINING SPEED"

Remo Drive is a hard hitting alternative indie outfit from suburban Minnesota. Comprised of Erik Paulson, Austin Voigt, and Stephen Paulson, the young men take influence from their favorite post hardcore, shoegaze, emo and punk bands before them such as Title Fight, Joyce Manor, Seahaven and Pedro the Lion. In my opinion, Remo Drive’s raw angsty vocals paired with sorrow-filled guitar chords emulate the sound of the late New Jersey rock bank Armor For Sleep, (2001-2009).

Their track named “Twelve” makes me want to viciously speed down an old country dirt road as I continuously punch the upholstery-covered roof of my 1989 Saturn, singing along to every word at the top of my lungs.

Formed in late 2013, Remo Drive established a relationship with local record label Rolling Green Records and began to make quick work by releasing demos almost immediately.. Since their partnership with the label, Remo Drive has developed a local following through regular gigging and have released their first studio recordings on two split EPs with local artists Unturned and Weathered, which is available on bandcamp. Watch for Remo Drive’s six song EP, “Wait for the Sun” expected to release in May, 2015. - Music in Minnesota

"Remo Drive"

Are you ready to get sad? If your answer is yes, then good, because with Remo Drive, it’s time to get sad. Placing these guys, as mentioned above, is difficult for me (which I mean in the best way possible). They obviously have sort of an emo backbone, but fail to fully meet the standard of what I think of when I think of emo bands. Instead they mix some very loud to soft post punk/post hardcore-ish type sections, and even have a few sections of songs that sound they like belong on a Matador Records release. Now is any of this a bad thing? Absolutely not. This unique blend of styles shows that Remo Drive is a band that refuses to be pinned down and is more than happy to explore their influences a little bit and move a bit out of their comfort zone, and that totally rules. I’ve stated before that for me, I personally get sick of the millions of bands within emo nowadays who seem to just want to be as close to Algernon Cadwallader as possible. That’s why Remo Drive’s willingness to transcend genre boundaries and really explore multiple genres is so refreshing. I definitely believe these guys are a band that everyone should be following closely, Also what the hell is what up with Lost State records? Those guys have just been knocking it out of the park with their releases. Seriously an absolutely killer label at this point that I can really trust to put out solid releases. Final thing, but I feel like an Oddities/Remo Drive split would be insanely awesome, but that’s just me. Anyways, after all the rambling, just check these guys out. You’ll love it. - Patriciancore

"REMO DRIVE ANNOUNCE NEW RELEASE!"

Minneapolis post hardcore/ emo trio, Remo Drive, have just announced a two song single which is due for release on November 10th. The first of the two songs to be released, ‘Breathe In’, is explosive and hardcore influenced instrumentally- but mirrors the emotional content of their previous releases.

On the digital release date (November 10th) the band plans to disclose more information about physical production of the album. - The Show Last Night
