Protean Fire was originally formed in 2016 by lead vocalist Chris Romano and guitarist Matthew Delano. This project would first record their EP in 2017 entitled, Cracking The Shell, and followed up 2018's self-titled EP, Protean Fire. During the creation and later after the finished of these two EPs, drummer Ben Frye and bassist Steven Smith would join Protean Fire. During the summer of 2019, Protean Fire would record their single, "Luminous Advent Of Blistering Seperation". Protean Fire has managed to play shows during that same year spanning across the Upstate New York region. To this present day, Protean Fire have been planning and working on new material.
