Bio
Planet Groove got their start in 1994, heavily influenced by the soul, funk, and R&B artists of the 60's and 70's. This 7 piece tour de force has 6 singers, a 3 piece horn section, 3 of the members play music for a living, while the others have music degrees! Planet Groove's music is a tribute to all the great horn bands, i.e. Chicago, Sly and The Family Stone, Blues Brothers, Van Morrison, Stevie Wonder, Motown, etc... Every song they do is danceable, and highly energetic, great for crowds of all ages. Planet Groove has played over 1500 shows, 100 festivals including Milwaukee's Summerfest 2 times, and Illinois State Fair 2 times as well. Planet Groove's mission is to energize the crowd, with feet tappin', heads bobbin', bodies shakin', and leaving the crowd grinning from ear to ear.
Planet Groove has backed up National Acts such as The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Rare Earth, Chubby Checker, The Outlaws, Herman's Hermits, Blue Oyster Cult, The Gatlin Brothers, Liquid Soul, Lonnie Brooks, Son Seals, Eddie Money, Lowen and Navarro, Funkhouse, etc...
