Bio

With lyrics that take the listener on a journey to places they have never been and a sound that makes them hold their breath in anticipation of what is around the next bend in the road, Mississippi River Crooks bring their audience along on a uniquely personal adventure by creating a wholly unique presentation of music written, arranged, and performed for the listening audience. The selection and arrangement of each piece is designed to create an emotional and aural impact upon the listener. The melodic complexity of classical keyboards and sax combined with the uniquely percussive guitar style and powerful vocal delivery of Memphis song-writer Darrell Wallace transcends labeling as a specific genre, with shades of rock, jazz, blues, classical, Celtic, and country influenced by Pink Floyd, Richard Thompson, Townes Van Zandt, Graham Parsons, Ry Cooder, and the Grateful Dead and provides a delicate canvass on which to paint the tremendously visual and soul-wrenching lyrics penned by Wallace.
Singer-songwriter Nori Hendrix is a veteran performer from Wichita, Kansas now located in Mobile, Alabama. As a teenager, Nori studied Opera and learned to play accordion, piano, and flute, but the call of the country sounds produced by the likes of Hank Williams, Sr. was too strong. Nori is a very compassionate performer, who brings that passion to her Community Service benefits for worthy causes. She continues to write brilliant and soulful songs about real life events that capture the emotions of her audience wherever she performs.

Dave Fero - guitar, vocals: Dave brings 50 years of experience to the table, having been featured on recordings of Motown artists as well as a variety of renowned rock bands. His credits include studio work with Barbara Lewis (“Hello Stranger”) at Hitsville, USA and at United Sound with Don Davis, producer for The Spinners and The OJ’s. As a member of the Motown Backup Band, Dave’s roadwork included touring with The Temptations, The Four Tops, and Smokey Robinson. His driving leads and slide guitar work put a soulful edge on their music
