Bio

M.A.R.S. was born and raised in Detroit,MI. As a kid he would watch the likes of Rakim, NWA, De La Soul and others while imitating what he seen on the screen. During all the madness in his childhood coming up in Detroit, he found hip hop as a sanctuary. Early on as a teen, he would get into the likes of Biggie Smalls, 2pac, Nas, and Jay Z. It is during this time when he played around with the idea of writing his own rhymes. But with the reckless lifestyle he lived at that time, rapping was always secondary to street life, but not for long.In 2004, he joined local rap label E.V.A Pro and performed under the name King Kaiser, with his group The Lanche Mobb in various showcases and open mics. The Lanche Mobb instantly became city favorites even opening up for the likes of Slim Thug and various Detroit legends like Big Herk. But do to mismanagement and poor business practices the group dismantled and the label never put out any of their material.  In 2007, he changed his name to M.A.R.S. which originally was an acronym for his legal name but soon changed the meaning to Making A Real Statement which embodied and details everything he's about and stand for as an elite emcee. In 2010, together with longtime collaborator and mentor Dreskills, he recorded his first mixtape "Mission to MARS: The God Complex" which garnered great acclaim from peers, bloggers, and fans. Mission to MARS displayed his ability to rhyme over various beats no matter pace or tempo, and a knack he has for creating songs that will grab the listener.

M.A.R.S. has opened up for a number of talented act. Royce Da 5'9, Elzhi, MGK, Trick Trick, Slaughterhouse, Black Milk and Bun B to name a few. He was also in attendance at the now infamous Hype Squad Friday Night Cypher with the likes of Big Sean.

In 2013 M.A.R.S alongside Cologne, Germany beat-smith Robot Orchestra joined forces to release "The Pursuit of Prestige" an 8 track Ep that gives you a glimpse inside the life of an aspiring artist, including all the dreams and struggles that come along with it.

M.A.R.S. is the type of artist that you actually LISTEN to rather than just nod your head to the beat. He has gained a steady growing following and reputation for being a fierce emcee, an incredible writer, with an impeccable ear for sounds and patterns, armed with an aggressive wordplay and tons of creativity with much more to show and prove.
