Bio
New York Blues Hall of Fame Inductee, Fred "Midnight Slim" Scribner is the former Guitarist with the Levon Helm Band, and was the house band for Imus in the Morning for 20 years. Fred has opened Shows for Johnny Winter, James Cotton, Otis Rush and Solomon Burke. He has played guitar with Tom Jones, Harvey Brooks, Gavin Degraw, Joey Degraw and Delbert McClinton. More recently he has been the co-promoter for the Sullivan County Blues/Music fests in the Hudson Valley.
WHUD- FM Spotlight Artist , LaurieAnne, is a small town farm girl whose influences came from the classic country albums that her dad would play and sing~never knowing how this would somehow, down the road, lead to her love for music. She formed her first band in the 80's but after her dad got sick, the band dissolved. After a 28-year hiatus from the music biz, she found Scribner on Facebook in 2011 and they have been performing all over the NY Tri -State Area for 4 years. LaurieAnne tried her hand at writing music. Her album, READY TO RIDE, is the result of coming "out of the comfort zone" . Produced by Scribner, this album showcases the pure country vocals of LaurieAnne infused with Fred's extraordinary guitar talents. This album mixes a splash of soul, a bit of edge and a touch of country rock. In Feb. 2014, the song TOO LATE was featured on WHUD-FM ARTIST SPOTLIGHT series. The song , FEELS LIKE HOME, was chosen as a finalist in the Great American Song Contest in April 2014 and Semi-Finalist in the Song of the Year contest in July 2014.
