Micheal St Bernard

Micheal St. Bernard (a.k.a.-Micheal), was born in Camden, New Jersey into a musically- inclined family, known also as The St. Bernard’s. Whether his mother was practicing songs for church or his father was creating music masterpieces in his studio, Micheal was surrounded by music throughout his early years, which is where he acquired his sense of music formation, composing, and organization. He learned how to be an efficient performer, by watching his mother pour her heart out while performing at church events.

At the age of nine, Micheal’s love of music brought him to becoming a part of the church youth choir, where he went from singing around his house with his siblings to singing and performing in front of large audiences on a regular basis, and fell in love with the attention and support he received from listeners, which is when he realized he wanted to sing and entertain around the world. However, it is music in general that has deeply inspired Micheal and is the driving force that motivates him to want to become an established artist known around the world.

After Micheal’s family relocated back to Bridgeton, New Jersey, he became slightly distracted from his music career and began running the streets. It was not until Micheal removed himself from his situation and stopped his rebellious ways that he was again able to focus on his music career by using his past experiences and turning them into music, which is also when he made the decision to pursue a career in the mainstream music industry. 

Although Micheal made the transition from gospel to mainstream music, he has not totally abandoned his roots and still sings his praises to God and lives a Christian life. Micheal’s idols are his mother and father, Patrice and Mark St. Bernard, some of his music artist idols are Michael Jackson, The Jackson 5’s, Brian McKnight, Tevin Cambell, Sisqo, Whitney Houston and Shirley Ceasar, music artists he grew up listening to and watching on television. 

In 2009, Micheal was performing ten shows a month throughout the Tri-State area. He has performed at,  The Trocodera, The Khyber, The Rusty Nail, Grey's Lounge, and Triumph in Philadelphia, PA, Rowan University, Stockton College, Camden, Gloucester, and Cumberland Community Colleges, Temple University, and Pine Forge Academy. Clearly, since the day Micheal decided to pursue a music career, he is continuing daily to master his craft as an artist and as an entertainer.
