Bio
Maya Jayna is an 18-year-old poet and sing/songwriter based in NYC/CT. As a poet, she has received recognition from the national Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, and she has performed poetry in the CT finals of Poetry Out Loud. She has also produced a chapbook, been published in a few teen magazines, and worked on a literary magazine herself. She's just starting out but is excited to share her writing and music.
Her spoken word poems deal with feelings of loss. "I Wonder if The Gods Grow Old?" deals with the theme of losing a family member, while her other poem, "This Is Where I Leave You," focuses on romantic relationships.
